I was launching my boat at the Cape Gear river ,I do this in a an order so I don't forget anything , I got everything done and backed the boat down the Ramp to put in and eased in the boat lifted off the trailer and I got out of the truck to pick up the dock line and started pulling the boat to yjr dock but as I was pulling I came to the end of the rope and no boat I looked up just as it hit the currant and took off ,now mind you the water temp is 68 and I am alone no other boats in sight WHAT AM I GOING TO do? It is to far to swim after and also to cold I followed it down stream I noticed it being blown toward shore so I kept following it ,about a half mile it lodged into some branches sticking up and about 20 feet from shore .thinking this would be my best and last chance, I emptied my pockets and went in to get it The water came up to my chest and cold I managed to get the broken rope and retrieve my boat It Has been one long Day
