Bennett Spring State Park: 54 degrees, high, dingy; spring level about 6 inches high and slightly off colored; flow is strong; best lures are; black/yellow, and ginger/orange marabou jigs, brown rooster tails and bumblebees, white Power Bait and kapok.
April fishing hours are 7am to 7:30pm.

Maramec Spring Park: 58 degrees, falling, dingy; stream is green, murky and slightly high but within its banks; fishing is good early in the morning. Currently the best lures have been a white or green rubber leg jig, rainbow colored tinsel jig, white rooster tails, and olive colored scuds. If you prefer bait fishing the hot colors are white, yellow, and orange power bait. Orange rubber worms have also been popular. The stream is very murky due to recent rains so anything with some flash or brightly colored will help attract fish.

Montauk State Park: 56 degrees, normal, clear; fishing/whistle hours for the month of April are 7:00am to 7:30pm. There is good flow due to recent rains; the water has a slight gray hue but is mainly clear. For best results come early and get your spot, use light line, 2 to 3 lb test is best. Check at the lodge for advice on what is working the best. In the Fly zone: wooly buggers, scuds and nymphs are working well, there is a good evening hatch right now, so dry flies are producing good numbers of fish in the late afternoons; in the bait area: dough and putty baits of all colors are catching nice fish, along with corn and cheese fished under a bobber. Bennett Spring State Park: 54 degrees, high, dingy; spring level about 6 inches high and slightly off colored; flow is strong; best lures are; black/yellow, and ginger/orange marabou jigs, brown rooster tails and bumblebees, white Power Bait and kapok.
April fishing hours are 7am to 7:30pm.

Maramec Spring Park: 58 degrees, falling, dingy; stream is green, murky and slightly high but within its banks; fishing is good early in the morning. Currently the best lures have been a white or green rubber leg jig, rainbow colored tinsel jig, white rooster tails, and olive colored scuds. If you prefer bait fishing the hot colors are white, yellow, and orange power bait. Orange rubber worms have also been popular. The stream is very murky due to recent rains so anything with some flash or brightly colored will help attract fish.

Montauk State Park: 56 degrees, normal, clear; fishing/whistle hours for the month of April are 7:00am to 7:30pm. There is good flow due to recent rains; the water has a slight gray hue but is mainly clear. For best results come early and get your spot, use light line, 2 to 3 lb test is best. Check at the lodge for advice on what is working the best. In the Fly zone: wooly buggers, scuds and nymphs are working well, there is a good evening hatch right now, so dry flies are producing good numbers of fish in the late afternoons; in the bait area: dough and putty baits of all colors are catching nice fish, along with corn and cheese fished under a bobber. Roaring River State Park: 57 degrees, falling, clear; the spring branch is somewhat greenish in color and clearing; olive, black and brown working well with some success on white and fluorescent orange; Power Bait eggs and nightcrawlers are working well in the allowable zones; for current or detailed information on stream conditions call 417-847-2430.
