Okay guys and gals, some will tell me to wait and find another but I have a question. I asked several questions while looking for a boat in another thread and tomorrow I am going to look at one. I recently had a surgery and riding in a boat is still risky, the owner has offered to run the motor in a barrel so I can see/hear it go in and out of gear, etc. Can I really tell much this way? I can listen for a miss or noise while shifting. I know it isn't ideal but the deal is very good and of course the owner wants to sell it not wait until I am good to ride. Can someone tell me what to watch/look for? The motor is a 2002 Yamaha 150 VMax, and it's on a 2002 Stratos 18xl. Thoughts? Thanks, I appreciate any insight.
