Hey guys, most of you are aware of my battery woes over the past year with the most recent issue occurring a few weeks ago when I put in at the local launch and the cranking battery was dead. Luckily, there was another boater fixing to take out and he had a set of jumper cables on him that I used to jump the cranking battery from the trolling battery to get the engine started.

What I found out from talking to you fine people is that since I don't travel long enough distances (i.e. motor running) on the local lake to adequately charge the cranking battery, it wasn't getting enough charge through the alternator. My boat only had a 1-bank charger installed from the dealer that is connected to the trolling (Group 27) when at port. Thanks to Tonto340 here at BBM who graciously sold me his older (but still like new) 2-bank charger, I now have both of my batteries hooked up when at port.

My boat isn't very large and space in the back is limited. When I got in there last night I realized the new charger (rather large) would not fit in the same place as the 1-bank unit so I had to find a new space for it.
