Just learned today that several of the Boat Ramps that I have been using in Central Alabama since the mid 70's are now going to be closed from the end of October until March. Corp of Engineers maintained Camp Grounds with Boat Ramps in Camp Grounds will be closed as well. I have used some of these ramps since way before the "Camp Grounds" were a reality! These ramps were not free launch so that is not the problem, access is going to be available only by way of a longer run on the water to fish the desired areas and so more gas burned than necessary. Of course, I will try to find private fish camp landing in these areas but this is just getting my blood pressure up! In affect, it is just like having areas placed under a "fishing season" which is unheard of around here. I was looking forward to the crowds being down due to deer season coming but now I can't get to where the crowd would have been.
