So I've been on vacation and it always starts with a list of small projects around the house. One of them was to trim my trees which include cypress, coconut palms and a few others since storm hurricane season is on the way, about 100 coconuts also needed to be removed so they don't become missiles. It's backbreaking for me due to my condition and I usually end up on ice for the next 2 days + I trash my truck hauling it away.
So I'm getting gas at the Mobil station and a guy knocks on my truck to hand me his card for tree trimming. I called and he came out to give me an estimate Saturday. He says $400 boss! I told him forget it, I can get It done for 1/2 that or do it myself. Ok boss, $200 it is if we do it now.
Then I said go ahead. One of his workers was on my dock looking around and saw a bass swim by and he then goes running to the truck and grabs a rod. You mind if I take a few casts boss? I said no, trying to be nice...big mistake. He caught it and within 20 minutes 2 more trucks showed up and 8 people got out with rods, men & women. While their dad was doing all the work, they all fished from my dock and I really didn't know how to stop it at that point.
They were screaming and yelling and filling grocery bags with various bream and tilapia and I finally said ALRIGHT GUYS, THATS ENOUGH. THATS YOUR TIP SO DONT EXPECT ANY EXTRA$. Then one guy asks me if I have any beer. I should have kicked them all off my property but by then, there were piles of branches in mounds around my yard and I wanted it hauled away.
It's done now but my neighbors are calling to ask what the H&@] was going on at my house yesterday! Good thing that I don't have to worry about this again for another year.
