Howdy... Never used muffs before. Need to use 'em to work on my 1977 Evinrude 115. Trying to think of anything to do to maximize the seal and make sure the motor's protected. Bungee cords around the foot? Some sort of clamp arrangement? What works for you?
I know it's not safe to run much higher than idle using them, and I won't. I'm real "danger-conscious". And I know that running on muffs won't duplicate real-life issues like exhaust back pressure, idle setting, etc. But it's just not practical to try and diagnose/tune the motor at the local public access lake. Any tips on using the muffs appreciated.
Cheers!
