Mburgess called me tonight and has a problem that he wanted me to ask the pros on this fine board about.He has a 2000 225 opti.His lower unit got water in it and split the case.It wasn't in a critical spot but was in the side of the bullet part.he had it welded up at a welding shop with a tig.It has a little weld bead protruding out about 3/16 of an inch.He got it back together and put it in today and when he gets up to WOT the prop loses bite .He can let off then back on and it will pick the bow up and go then get up to about 70 then loses bite again.He said that just before it loses bite the back of the boat jumps to the left.It never did this before he did the lower unit.Could the weld be disrupting the flow of water to the prop?
