Beings how Tulsa is a little less than 3 hours from me my father and I took a day trip to the CLassic Expo and watchedpartof a weigh-in.
I was overwhelmed by the expo. Never in my life have I seen such an ENORMOUS display of bass-fishing related stuff. I had NO idea there were THAT many lure manufacturers and Rod makers!!!
I got out of there without buying a SINGLE THING!!! LOL It took a TON of will-power but I made it. (That and I got a call from work while I was down there saying to prepare for a possible furlow thanks to our govt).
The weigh-in was really cool, and was produced very well. I wished I could have stayed through the week-end but we had to get back home.
I was hoping to get to meet Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Jimmy Houston and the others but since it was day one I never saw them...
I can finally say, "I have been to the BASSMASTERS CLASSIC" even if it was for just 7 hours LOL.
Revnant, I combed over a Phoenix 618 while there and an new VLO Stratos. They were basically right next to each other. Wow, that was a tough choice and I don't think you could go wrong either way!
MY favorite display though was Bass Cat. I spent a lot of time taling to Rick Pierce and that was one of my highlights of the show. I was just very disappointed they didn't bring the ONE boat I wanted to see...the Eyra
