Repowering a 209TE with 225 Pro XS. Gambler 209TE('95). I had a '96 209 with a 225 ProMax(2.5) and turned a 26" trophy right at the limiter until Mercury recalled'em sometime in the late 90's and fattened up the fuel curve - after that 6200 was a bout max.
I am thinkin' a 27" trophy as a starter. I don't think a 26" will be quite enough prop. "IF" I got a 28" AND couldn't hit the desired rpms I'm assuming it could be loosened up some. But..... is it better to tweak a 27" up or a 28" down? That mah' friend is the question.
