My 96 Stratos 278 is currently running a Raker 14 1/2 X 24 & the boat runs out great but I just spotted some hairline cracks on the blade tips & also where the blades meet the hub ... so I thought now is the time to try a 4 blade.
Evidently the previous owner lightly curled the blade tips under on the raker & hammered them back out "incorrectly" causing the cracks & I don't know if this prop is worth fixing or could even be trusted.
I see a lot of used 4 blade props for sale but do I pick one that is 1" or 2" smaller in diameter & pitch to match the performance of the 3 blade or what do I look for ?
