Did you ever catch 3 bass on a single Rattle Trap on 1 cast? It happened at Okeechobee once while I was pre-fishing a tournament. We left the area to save it for the tourny and the next morning they were gone.
Another time, we fished an area hard for hours with no action. I said let's move and my partner laid his rods down with the tips facing over the transom. One of his plugs was dangling about a foot from the rod because he didn't secure it. Just as I started the motor, I see his rod bending double and it took off until the reel got caught on the motor harness. He had a huge bass and almost lost his rod.
But the weirdest, most puzzling thing that I still cannot explain goes as follows:
My friend Andy and I were fishing the freshwater side of the New River, a canal that crosses Broward County from the Everglades to the Intracoastal in Fort lauderdale. We tied on the new (new at the time) red Eagle Claw worm hooks, black Bullet Weight and a new color worm I just bought. He immediately lost a nice bass under a bridge and came up with just his line. He was pissing & moaning for an hour as we trolled west to hit some more bridges. About a mile west, he set up on a nice hit and this time he landed about a 4 pound bass and.....in it's mouth was a broken off red worm hook and the same worm we were using all morning, in addition to the 2nd red worm hook and same worm he cought it on. Could that fish have been stalking us!
