When you buy new tackle ie: crankbaits. Do you buy more than one?

I can't tell you the times I have bought a new lure,crankbaits in particular, that were a fish catching lure only to have the manufacturer change the bait. May it be a new company, the paint or even the hooks. They don't work the same plain and simple.
When I find a bait that works I tend to buy several. I'm afraid the company will either change something or discontinue the bait.
