Hey guys. I'am a new member here and am in the process of fixing up and re-rigging my 1997 javelin 409 tdc 20' bassboat. I want to purchase a jack plate and definately want a hydraulic unit. Since there isnt a large price difference in the 4", 6", and 10" set back models. I was going to go with the 10" setback but I just dont know if thats too much for my particular boat and not sure if my transom can handle the load. I currently have a 1997 Johnson venom 200 hp motor. What are your thoughts as far as set back distance and transom load?
