Bass Season here in the Northeast(including North Country, NY & SE Ontario,Canada) has been opened for a week now. Reports I've heard, that lots of bass, (LM & SM) being caught. The smallies are running big on the Lake(Ontario) and the River(St. Lawrence) with 5 & 6 pounders not being unuseual. I guess the Gobeys have some good use, as their stomaches are full of them I'm told. Drop Shoting still seems to be the best way to catch these bronzbacks, with crank baites running a close second.
The largemouth are running good with a 2-3 pound average and quite often a 4-5 pounder is in the limit. Tomorrow is our first club tournament here on the River, so we'll have to see what happens.
