Striper fishing is doing very well this week along with the large mouth
and the catfish. Stripers are still chasing the shad all over the lake but
fishermen are doing the best in the fish arm. Most of the stripers that
are being caught are bigger then they have been in the past few
weeks, most ranging from 2 to 9 pounds. Shad and shad imitations and
doing the best but some small trout lures are starting to work. The
largemouth are biting on the shad and shad imitations in the backs of
the coves and off of the points in the fish arm. Recently the catfish at
both the upper and the lower lakes have been doing very well, lots of 3
to 7 pounders being caught on a wide variety of baits. The trout bite at
the lower lake is doing excellent and the largemouth reacted well to
the plant and the lagoon is on the board for a trout plant on the week of
Nov. 1st 2009. The upper lake has still not received trout nor is it on the
schedule for a stock this week.
