[ICAST 2023]Duran’s Fishing Products Full Metal Alumak Trolling Plug
We have a unique high-speed trolling lure coming in from the West Coast with the AluMak High-Speed Trolling lure for ICAST 2023. A full metal CNC’d aluminum high-speed trolling plug. Instead of being made of molded thermoplastic around a through-wire harness, the Alumak is different. It is made of 100% CNC machined 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum this lure is meant to solve the longevity problem of other trolling lures on the market today. Especially with toothy fish like king mackerel, wahoo, and barracuda plastic trolling plugs can often be broken in half or have the hook eyes pulled through the plastic body ruining the lure. Each Alumak trolling lure is made from two symmetrical machined 6061 aircraft aluminum shells machined out of a single block. The precision machining is accurate within .005 of an inch, eliminating the need to tune lures on water.
The hook eyelets are stainless steel inserts machined into slots in the aluminum shell halves. They are then are locked into place with 316 marine-grade stainless steel crews, precision TIG welding, and glue to make sure these lures will last a lifetime. (As long as you don’t pop them off or get cut off) All Alumaks have a durable Type II anodize and lasered etched stripes that are impregnated into the aluminum itself. So no peeling or chipping of the finish, unlike traditional painted finishes. The Alumak comes in two sizes, an 8-inch lure that weighs in at 9 ounces and a 10-inch lure that weighs in at 15.5 ounces. Both lures can be trolled at 6-17 knots and will come prerigged with hook styles of your choosing if ordered online.
