After taking the little 16' BumbleBee out for it's 1st. run I noticed 2 things that really bothered me.

First off, planning out from dead stop 'hole shot' was slow to get up on the pad, much like a hot rod car spinning it's tires and then hooking up solid and taking off like a rocket.

Secondly, before I knew it, me and my buddy was 3 miles up river before I noticed the tach was sitting on 6200 ... so I backed it down.

The motor ran great other than having to keep an eye on the tach.

Today I measured the jackplate and hull numbers and had to raise the jackplate up a full inch to get the 3 1/2" needed for a reference point.

I'm running a 13 X 19 SS prop on the 110 Johnson and from what I've asked around and researched ... this prop should be correct for my set up.

So what would cause my engine to run 6200, not enough pitch or just to small of a prop all together ?

Do you think raising the motor as I did today will make any difference ?
