Johnson 2400 Troller... 198?

I bought a boat with a Johnson 2400 foot controlled trolling motor. I can't find a "J" model number on it. I'd like to know what year it is so I can (maybe) purchase a service manual. The boat is a '86 and the outboard a '85, so I'm assuming the troller is around that. The main reason I'm wanting to buy a manual is the steering is a little tight in spots. Maybe someone could just tell me what to oil/grease to get it operating smoother. Or, maybe someone has a .pdf they'd like to share, or can point me to a download. Also, can you use siliconized contact cleaner in the speed control? It's a little stiff as well.
Additionally, does anyone know what pound thrust these are?
