Mercury Cowlings

Does anyone know if a 2001 Mercury 25 hp cowling would fit a 1981 Mercury 25 horse? My 1981 Mercury is needing a new cowling and I was thinking it would look nice to but a updated hood on it because the rest of the motor resembles the newer motors besides the blue stripe on the lower part of the motor that I plan to remove. I got the idea a few weeks ago when I seen a man that had a 2001 Mercury 25 hp hood on a 1995 Mercury 25 hp motor. It looks like the part on the 95' that the hood fastens too was the same as my 81'. I know this is a bass boat forum and 25 hp motors aren't of much topic but I have one on my smaller boat for the smaller local waters I fish.
