Here's a case where my old Merc 3000 series control was just not smooth as it used to be. Even after a good lube job, still not what it should be. Rather than spend some serious cash for a new control I decided to make my own. Since I already had a "Hot Foot", there was no need to have a control hold a throttle position of any kind. Started by removing the control and plate it was mounted to. Measured the old plate and made a new one from 1/8" thk aluminum. Bought an aftermarket shifter, which is all I needed with a Hot Foot, A Bob's trim control button and started to punch some holes in the new plate to mount everything up. Transfered the kill switch from the old plate to the new one as well. So here's the results..........Simple and clean
