Outboard Oil Line

Was doing some maintenance on my Yamaha this morning. Just doing regular check-out procedures, and notice a odor (smells like oil) inside the compartment where the oil tank and battery is located. Found the oil line (rubber hose) from the tank pump to the engine was leaking about where the line enters the plastic flange on the fiberglass wall going out to the rigging hose. It appears the back and forth movements over the years made the oil line hose rub against the fiberglass creating a worn area in the hose.

Just finish replacing the 5-1/2 feet of 1/4" ID hose. Cost $6.79 for new hose at Auto Zone. This could have been a disaster about to happen. Pays to make a yearly check on these important items.
