Got a taste today of why Okeechobee is called The Washing Machine by locals. Solid 25 to 30MPH winds blowing right at me, with water that looked like the ocean. Nothing under 2 feet, with the occasional 3 footer in a nasty chop with white caps. I wasn't driving a boat so much as riding an aquatic pogo stick with how many times I jumped out of the water. This would have been rough in a bay boat moreover a bass boat.

I didn't spear any waves, but I still managed to get absolutely soaked. A mile out, I turned around and headed back to the rim canal. Have to a admit it was a fun, but no place for a bass boat today. I ventured back out when the wind died down and it was only solid 1 footers with an occasional 2. Unfortunately I couldn't find any clear water.

Still the rim canal produced some good fish today. Overall, lots of fun.
