With the magic that is modern technology and a collaborative effort involving NASA, CIA, DEA, FBI and MIT the following experiment took place.

In May of 2001 NASA launched an unannouced satellite. It's capabilities - the ability to detect and record sound waves at great distances. The purpose if this mission was an attempt to record battle field information, major drug dealer conversations and conversations by terrorist in an attempt to learn as much about each groups plans and intentions.

Not sure if it's sensing signals could be dectected, thereby rendering it uselss, a one year trial was conducted on Lake Lanier in Georgia. NASA was responsible for collecting the data and MIT was responsible for assimilation of that data which once completed with be turned over to the various agencies involved in the experiment.

The trial ran for 12 months at which time NASA released its recordings to MIT. It took the MIT engineers another 12 months to assimilate and collate that data into useable form.

Each goverment entity studied the report with keen interest. Results revealed one surprising thing. The sensing signal was non-detectable - that was anticipated thus not surprising. Each agency, independent of the other, came to the same surprising conclusion.

The most common phrase, uttered before virtually every boating accident recorded in the trial year was "Hold my beer n' watch this!"
