saw on a fishing show today that the guy dropped his trolling motor in the water and they fished for a while then he picked up his pull rope and raised the trolling motor.
and as he raised it up the shaft slid up on the shaft holder (donut), now mine came locked down at a set depth and i was told to adjust it according to how the boat sat in the water.
now i rarely use mine so this seemed strange to see but i would guess it would be better for it to slide up and down as opposed tohaving the shaft bend on hitting an outcropping or sand bar.
what say you guys?
