Back in the day, I had two choices when it came to Bass fishing line...Stren & Trilene. And, of course, they were both monofilament. Oh sure, other lines were out there, and braided was certainly around, but few Bass fishermen I knew used it. For most of us, it was Stren and Trilene. My personal preference was Stren Clear Blue, 17 lb test (The only line I'd be caught on Toledo Bend with). I had buddies who were die hard Trilene users. You couldn't give them a spool of Stren. As we all know, personal bias runs deep. With the vast improvement of braided line, and the advent of "super lines", things have become a bit more complicated. Now it's mono, braid, co-poly and fluorocarbon. Like most of you, I've tried them all. And, of course, I've developed my own personal bias regarding them. I pretty much have it down to two lines...Braid (Power Pro) (, for frogs and buzzbaits. And Co-polymer (McCoy Mean Green Xtreme), as my "go to" line for everything else. What are you guys using, and why?
