Well I bought a new 2008 Z7 with 150 Mercury EFI last year, right now I'm running about 65-67 top the boat seems to take too long to get up on plane. I'm looking into a 5 1/2 inch jack plate and was wondering what some of the bennefits would be: like will it get on plane faster will top end go up and how much. One of the other reasons for wanting a jack plate is I've heard the best place to mount a side image transducer is right under the jack plate. Right now I got 2 lowrance x 96's does any one know how the humminbird 798 would mount in the console compared to the x 96. I have not bought a jack plate or the humminird yet so i really appreciate any info and opinions on both. I'm a newbie so once I figure out how this forum works I'll post some pics. Thanks
