Ally, The south end of the Lake is probably the most, how do I say this and be PC, run down area to live. Clewiston is nicer and the center of Bass Fishing tourneys due to Roland Martin's being there but the nicest area on the lake I've been to is the north side in Okeechobee City. There are huge Mobil home parks there right on the water and it's close to the mouth of the Kissimmee River. Moore Haven is also nice and very laid back and is about 20 minutes north of Clewiston right on the Caloosahatchee River where it meets the lake. That gives you quick access to fish Harney Pond or the Monkey Box areas which are full of big fish year round. I think of I was the one moving or buying a second home on the lake, it would be between those two areas. Good luck with your search.
