There are many people that start into the world of bass fishing on foot or in a buddy's boat. Then they acquire the want and need of buying there first rig.

Its really very simple but does require some thought on your part. I felt the need to point out a few what I think are IMPORTANT qualities to look for in the rig you are considering.

What type of water do you fish most frequently ?.........Big water demands a bigger boat that handles big water more safely.

Do you or will you fish Tournaments?.........If so will you fish solo or Buddy style. .....Here again you need to make a good judgment call.....a small boat will be cramped and a 22ftr may be to big. Most 18-19ft rigs will suffice unless your fishng sy one of the Great lakes and then you will need to consider a bigger rig.

Always opt for the largest motor your rig can handle..........Buying the package boat really wont save you any money if you have to swap outboards later. By rigging with the max hp the boat will save you money....Runs easier which translates into money saved at the gas pump and performs more safely.

Accessories are just as important as the rest of the rig. Aierators, trolling motors, electronics, storage areas..........make sure your rig has what YOU Need when you first purchase it. By doing so this will make the rig perform at its best level and compliment your fishing not hamper it.
