I have been lax in my attendance this summer. I've been out in the boat a lot this summer when not at work. I had intended to get back into tournaments this year but it hasn't happened. While I've been doing well in my catches, I have been lacking the big bites I'd need to make it to the top of the scoreboard. I could put 15 in the boat but not the 18 it takes to win. I'm always short that one 5lb kicker the winners seem to find. So, I just haven't entered. I'm not going to throw down the cash when I don't feel I have the chance to make any back. I am missing something and until I get it figured out I will just continue to fish for fun. Maybe I can lean on ya'll to help me get it figured out. I've been having a lot of fun though. Tried a new technique recently that has been a LOT of fun. Flick Shake! Or whatever they call it. It's just a weighted wacky rig I guess but it's been crazy effective (and fun). So, I'll keep experimenting with it. The other thing is, I have just been kind of sick of the computer and honestly, this is the first time in like 2 weeks I've even sat in this chair. I'm about to start working on the boat now. Pump replacements, putting in all new transducers in the bilge area and hooking up a in dash FL-10 at the helm and a FL-12 on the bow. It's going to take a little time and I'll likely miss out on some fishin' time but I'll have everything where I want it come next spring.
