Confused

I have just had a new V6 mercruiser motor installed in my 18ft Regal Bowrider. I have been running in my new motor for about 12 hours had an oil change. Boat had been running at 3000rpm and driving at 30mph no problem. I took the boat out this weekend for a little run and it was running at 4800rpm and doing the same speed 30mph. I have noticed the prop has some little chips out of the blades. Do you think I need to repair my prop or buy a new one with a higher pitch? to get better MPH vs my RPM
