On Friday host of the popular fishing podcast “Bass Talk Live” made an interesting statement about the future site of next year’s Bassmaster Classic. During his weekly podcast, host Mark Jeffreys, claimed that with regards to the 2019 Classic “it appears that next years Classic will be in Knoxville, Tennessee”. Although he goes onto say he got no confirmation at this years Classic, his tone was very confident that Knoxville would indeed be the site of next years Bassmaster Classic .
The lake is never discussed during the segment, but Jeffreys along with co-host Matt Pangrac go on to debate favorites for the 2019 Classic, that included Ott Defoe, leading us to wonder if Douglas Lake may be the site of next years Classic waters. BASS has made no press release on the host city or the venue for the 2019 Classic, but news should come in the next few weeks. I think the chances are good that The Classic will be back in the “Volunteer State” for the first time since 1986, which would be awesome. Knoxville would be a great host city.
