I could not beleive my eyes! there was a big tanker going north on the Hudson river NY, When suddenly tanker gave five blasts on boats horn, I was on shore playing on a little sandy beach with my kids, I started searching the water for something unusual, and there it was, Ajet skier pulling a water skier who had just fell off and was waiting for jet skier to came back pick in up, now from where I was it seem like a couple hundred yeads from tanker to skier, but pilot in tanker thought that it was to close and to dangerous what was happening in front of him, twice the tanker sounded the signal before skiers cleared tankers path. We never know if skiers knew the meaning of five blasts and ignored it or if they just didn't know better. just like a car cutting of a tractor trailer on water is small crafts being where they have no business to be. These big boats need lots of room and time to stop and maneuver. I bet commercial boats hate the summer because of that.
