Last fall before I got shipped to Shreveport for the last 6 months I finished up the deck extension on my lil boat. Anyways was just letting folks know how easy and relatively inexpensive it is to do it. Some 1/8" angle and some 1/8" aluminum plate and carpet is all that is needed. The small amount of time involved with adding the extension makes your boat so much more fishing friendly. Now this is on boats that have wasted or what I call wasted space between the console or consoles and the front deck. I did mine in approx 1 1/2 or about 10hrs start to finish and cost was around 100 total for everything includng fasteners, carpet ,adhesive and aluminum. Find the aluminum laying around somewhere and the cost drops to maybe 40.
Not only do you have more room on the deck but you can place smaller items under the deck and not trip on em like maybe a partneers bag or vests when not running.
