I know you purist would never listen to music while fishin. But in the hot afternoon when nothing is bitting I will turn on the tunes. I like to drill holes in my boat, so it was no problem adding these. The sound is great with the speakers mounted as shown. I turned it on in the drive and could feel the bass thumping through the hull. There won't be a fish within 3 miles when I turn her up.
I added a 4 gig SD card and have over 2000 MP3's loaded. No CD player or any mechanical parts.
This is a Boss model MR1305 WUA.
Yea,
This last pic poorly shows the inside. The rod box on old ranger pad boats are huge. There is plenty of room inside for rods as the player only projects a few inches into the box. The speakers even less. The complete package player and speakers are available at BPS for $79.00. The largest part is the water proof enclosure the player sits in. It has a roll cover for the front.
