Well guys, yesterday I finally got to launch my boat for the first time in 5 weeks. I only got to stay out about three hours though due to looming black rain clouds, buy my boat performed flawlessly and I got to both light the water on fire with a few high speed passes, then generally just take a leisurely cruise around the lakes at around 40-45 mph, slowing down to around 20 or so (slow planing speeds) when I found a place that looked promising for another day when I get to actually fish. I found about three new spots and also noticed a few changes to my usual holes always good for a fish or two.

Since my boat for the most part had been sitting since I came back from vacation toward the end of march, she needed to be ran a little. I also found out early on yesterday that until I get my lower nose coned, my Yammie Drag 4 is my best prop to run on her now that my HPD needs re-hubbed. My ET cut Chopper might also be a good prop for now if I can get my guy to fix a crack in one blade. Finances right now are tight so re-hubbing my Hyperdrive will have to wait. So for now until I can get my motor higher my prop choices are a bit limited.

I've also developed a low speed miss I attribute to sitting too long without being ran, but at higher speeds she ran perfect -anything over 2K (forgot my GPS so went by tach). I'm also thinking of adding on my red topped Holley electric fuel pump because I just don't have the torque I should have on takeoff which I suspect is still a fuel feed issue either from the main line still being collapsed or a weak fuel pump. My Holley electric is only 7 psi so I don't think it would be too much pressure. I'll have to vent my bilge area better when I add this though, but other than that I see no problems.

I really did enjoy myself though, and with the stress of the breakup of me and my girlfriend, my house being up for sale, and my two upcoming surgeries I really needed some time doing my favorite thing -being out on the water. Next time It'll be a better day, and I'll be able to stop and get some fishing in. For what it was though, I really had a great time.;)

Tight Lines Everyone!

Ally:)
