Burns
Degrees
* first degree = skin is red.
* second degree = Skin red and belistered.
* third degree = Skin charred (brown or black)
First aid
1 Check breathing. Apply CPR, if necessary.
2 Apply cold, wet cloths for 5-10 minutes.
3 Administer strong pain medication.
4 Flush the burned area with fresh water (salt is ok if fresh is not available) for a full 30 minutes. DO NOT apply vaseline or any type of cooking oil or butter.
5 DO apply an antibacterial ointment, if available.
6 Cover with a loose sterile bandage. Do not puncture blisters.
