POISONING

Ingested
* corrosive substances such as acids,ammonia,alkalis and petroleum distillates (gasoline, diesel fuel, paint thinner, etc. Typically burns the lips, mouth and throat and lead to breathing dificulty.
DO NOT induce vomiting, this will lead to further exposure to corrosion. Drink lots of milk to dilute substance.

* Noncorrosive substances should be gotten out as soon as possible induce vomiting (place finger down the throat).

* Bacterial food results in abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Induce vomiting as well, after vomiting increased fluids will be helpful.

Inhaled
Carbon monoxide and the fumes of many petroleum distillates may cause headaches, dizziness and disorientation. Treatment consists of fresh air. CPR may be necessary sometimes.

Contact with skin
Poisons, such as acids and alkalis, on the skin or in the eyes should be flushed with plenty of fresh water.
