foot strap for co angler

I'm thinking in installing a strap so co angler can slide feet underneath it and that way his feet won't be jumping up and down while crossing waves or running in rought water. this would be a smi loose strap secured into boat. I run a single console boat with little holding handles for fishing partner. right now I got handle on left side and handle beloe seat for him to hold on to it, but co anglers feet sometimes rise to hights that could be dangerous and he could end up on boats floor. since I like to run as fast as I can (with safety in mind) I would like to give co angler another point of support. Anyone done anything similar?
