Getting a boat

I just joined and would like some advice on buying a boat. First off, I want a new boat but the issue I am having is to go ahead and get the boat I am looking at or start out a little simpler. I want aluminum as it is lighter and will not require me to get another truck. I have been looking at the Xpress X19 but since I have never owned a boat before I am somewhat hesitant to go out and spend big dollars. I have been looking at the Lowe Frontier Jon Boats and Bass Pro jon boat as a starter boat. Something around 17 ft. I have owned a jetski in the past so I am experienced with launching boats and operating a trailer. What do you think of my idea of starting out simple or should I just go out and get the Xpress and just learn with it? Also, what do you think about the Lowe Frontier series boats as well as the BassPro Grizzly series boat?
