So I just got a good look at an 18FT Ranger Intercoastal and I have to admit that it's a really, really nice boat. The guide who ran it was telling me he's even taken it off shore and done dolphin fishing. HOW I have no idea, but with no carpet and a saltwater build I could easily see some Red fish action.
I'm actually surprised more companies haven't done this. The boat might not sparkle as much, but it sure is going to be more durable. It probably wouldn't be that much more to make. Snap in carpets like the VLO could be used when you want them, and pulled out for when your in the salt.
I was already planning to have my next boat made ready for salt (except for the carpet), but Ranger might have it ready made.
