Hydraulic Steering Question

I am looking at purchasing a used boat (2011 Nitro Z7 with 150 Merc), but it currently does not have hydraulic steering. It is equipped with dual rack and pinion, but from what I have been reading an upgrade would be desirable. So, is it worth the expense and/or trouble to replace the steering system in a 2-year old boat, or should I continue looking elsewhere? Or is the replacement not really necessary?
