Looking for some feedback on this item from anyone who has installed one. The great thing about having my boat in my garage is that I walk past it several times a day and think how lucky I am to have it paid for and still looking new and running great after 12 years.
The downside is that I also notice things that need fixing. Today, while taking out the trash I noticed a chip in my keel under the bow. See photo. I don't even remember hitting anything recently. It may have happened when trolling to a shoreline to retrieve a stuck plug on the bank but usually I'm careful not to hit rocks.
I smeared some sealant over it for now but I am thinking it may be time for a Keelguard. That would cover it permanently and also protect it from happening again.
The directions are pretty straight forward but if anyone has installed one, please let me know of any issues you had that I can be aware of in advance so I can do it right the 1st time.
