Ally, some day, I'd like to add a electric 4 inch JP to my boat. Can't do it myself but maybe we could hook up and you could help. It's too big a job for me and I'd have to extend my steering cable probably but I trust that you can do it right. When we get together at Big O you can give me your opinion. Not looking for more speed so much as I am looking for options in shallow water. My trim tabs work well but they rigged the switches with no slack in the wiring so changing them requires replacing the wires and I'd also like to replace the buttons with a trim gauge which is like $60 bucks and there is no room for pulling them out to re-rig anything. I want the trim gauge that has the LED's for level of trim. Currently, I just have the up & down switch for each side and they don't indicate trim level. They work but you have to look at them to see where they are and they have burned out a few times and I had to sandpaper the contacts to keep them working over the years. They are definitely in need of replacing to update to modern standards since I'm keeping this boat for ever if I can.Sure I'll help you with these things buddy. No problem. CMC makes a few electric's and they are a quality product. Meanwhile I'll think on the other issues with your trim tabs but I would assume standard trim gauges should work providing there's a sending unit. We'll talk about it more when I get down there.
