Legislation plugging a controversial boat tax loophole, a loophole which apparently cost one lawmaker his job and taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars, is in jeopardy again.
The bill (LB 495) which has had its share of fits and starts took another turn for the worst this week when its main promoter, State Senator Dave Pankonin of Plattsmouth, announced his resignation effective October 7.
