I am starting this thread today. I will be tearing down my 99 Johnson looper v6 powerhead and starting my rebuild. Over the course of a few weeks I will keep everyone posted on what I am doing, etc.
Last night I started tearing the motor down, all I have left is the ignition components and intake/carb's to take off and the powerhead will be free from the outboard.
Tonight I will have the powerhead off. I will take pics and ask alot of questions.
Plans for this rebuild....
Block sending off to Mar-Fab out of sparta, TN to sleeve one cyl and bore all alike, and perform the cooling mod.
Wiesco .040 forged and coated pistons....**cough** correction..... .030 oversize.
I still have to mill the heads. (more hp and to make them flat.
Boyseen reeds.
And of course.....
My fuel injection conversion!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully I will be pushing 270-300 ponies out of this little baby.... we will see.
