I need some help and thoughts. The Humminbird book says to mount the Side Imaging Ducer 1/4" below the pad. I am afraid at high speeds this would be bad because that it not a small transducer. That thing is huge.
My thought was to mount it 1/4" above the pad so when cruising at 70mph or so it is not in the water taking the pressure. I was told that the ducer does not pic up good imaging over 5mph anyway and there isn't a locator I know of that holds a reading at 70mph. I use a flasher for driving always anyway.
So would it be wise of me to mount it a little higher? Don't want to see that thing get damaged!
