Well I had my first run in of the year on Sat. I even tried to keep my cool since we are sponsored and all.
My partner and I were working a shoreline and we were coming up to another boat. I knew who it was and have fished in tournys with them for over 13 years. As we were getting closer they netted a nice 18+ Smallie.
Our rules say that if a boat is anchored you msut stay away at least 50ft. I was at about 150ft away yet. The guy that caught the fish was doing something so his partner jumped on the troller. Swung the nose of his boat in my direction. I was just heading out from shore to go around them and then he casts out in deep water. So I immediatly turned to cut through on the inside when the guy on the troller starts reaming me out of being a bad sportsman yada yada yada. Saying they been there for 2 hours etc and I am ruining their spot.
I told them I was gonna go around til he casted out in deep water. I am not a mind reader so know the exact spot they are fishing. So this went on as I had to pretty much take a huge gap around them and I finally had to make a comment back to them.
As I got around them I told them "it doesn't matter anyway. The guy on the troller says "and why is that"....."
I said " You guys ran through a no wake bridge this morning and I was not the only boat to see you do it"
They argued that they did not do it but it pretty much shut them right down.
Little did they know is that I am best buds with the officials and I reported it first thing in the morning when they did it by a text and the other boat did the same.
Now... what you don't know... is back 8-10 years ago, this same team used to do things not sportsman like all the time. They cut me off in my boat one time and almost forced me into a shore line at 60mph. They have done alot to others too besides me. And, the other boat that reported it, the owner of the boat used to be my old partner when that used to happen, lol...
So moral of the story... Karma Rocks!!!
