Something dropped in gas tank

I opened my gas cap tonight and the chain attaching it to the boat was disconnected. When I examined the cap it looks like there was a small screw that attached the chain to the cap. I'm assuming the screw probably fell down into the tank or is caught in the fuel line. I'm not sure when it happened but lets assume that the screw is in the fuel tank lor will be at some point. Would the fuel filter ctach it or will it destry the engine. Also will it corrode in the tank and cause problems?

I was thinking about trying to disconnect the fill line and see if I can find it in there but do I need any special stuff to remove or re attach it other than a screwdriver?
