I think you all kinow that I have dealt with several deaths in my family in the last 3 months.

Unfortunately, today only adds to the total. My father passed this morning, after a 14 month fight with cancer. I was fortunate enough to be by his side this morning when he went peacefully. Following is his obituary:

Harold L. Love of Hillsboro left our earthly world to be with God on Saturday, January 15th. Harold passed peacefully after a courageous 14th month battle with cancer. His final year was filled with laughs, love with his family, running his dogs and feeding his wild birds.

Harold's life was filled with service to our country while in the Army where he met his wife Monika in Germany and also as a Post Commander at the American Legion post 253 in Festus MO. His real love was being in the outdoors, growing his plants, hunting and fishing.

He leaves behind Monika, his wife of 46 years. He was the father of 4 children - Thomas Love, Kelly Keagy and Michelle Hardin and Christina Council and "OPA" to 8 grandchildren Kristen, Bryon, Monika, Jessica, Jordan, Alex, Jonathan and David; and 4 great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Haley, Willem & Paisley.

A visitation at 11:00 am on Saturday January 22 followed by a memorial service at 12:00 is scheduled at Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro MO. Private graveside service immediatly following.

To honor Harold, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Fisher House Foundation - St. Louis at 1 jefferson Barracks Road,
